Mandates for Eligibility
To stake a legitimate claim, aspirants must:

Possess a Master’s degree awarded by a Danish university or an internationally recognized institution accredited by the Danish Agency for Science and Higher Education.

Not be enrolled in any PhD program at the time of the award announcement on 26 November 2025.

Be supervised by a principal investigator who is part of a Danish university faculty and actively engaged in research within the relevant field.

For collaborative projects, a co-supervisor from the biomedical industry is required.
Stringent Provisions & Procedural Footnotes
- Applicants are permitted to submit only one PhD application across all DDEA programs per annual call.
- A Principal Investigator (PI) may concurrently supervise only one PhD fellow supported by the 2/3 funding scheme or one DDEA-funded two-year postdoctoral researcher, unless special exemption is approved.
- PIs already supervising DDEA-funded researchers must comply with the eligibility requirements specified in the DDEA’s official guidelines.
